if your trying to gain mass. you need 0.9 - 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. also, you need to train hard. lift moderately heavy with weight that limits you to 5-6 or 8-12 reps per set with 3-4 sets. heavier weights with 5-7 sets for 2-4 reps for strength. start with bodyweight excercises and light weights to build a foundation. dont neglect water and whole foods.

15 reps 2 sets is slightly uncommon,
normally one does 15 reps 3-4 sets purely for endurance training.
More weight will give you more strength over time

Of course a balance of the two (more weight/less reps + less weight/more reps) will be best

Hmmm another tip (dunno why he didn’t mention it) Stand against the wall)

Also try a lower weight and don’t drop the dumbbells as low as him so you keep the weight on your biceps you realy get them burning that way.

Oke, thanks. Yea I am training hard, i have improved pretty good, last 6 months to3 months I have improved very much, but it kinda liked stopped again. And the scale isn’t showing me gain aswell. And I sport pretty much so it’s not fat off and muscles growing. My fat level is nice and steady but i just seem to have a hard time gaining lately.

right…but there is a bone in the human body called a “wing” it is the scapula. Scapula means wing in latin, since the scapula pops up like wings when you move your shoulders at a certain point.

Do you have to do each bicep curl at the same time, cos i do mine one after the other arm… is that wrong? Also, what are the bicep curls where you twist the dumbbell, as i do those. What are better, these or the twist ones?

  22. Speedeefeet on May 2nd, 2009 4:02 am

Read an anatomy book before you start spouting out stupid stuff again. Your “underarm muscle” is called your latissimus dorsi or LAT. Also, there is no muscle on the human body called a “wing”. I would also like to know what kind of pushup you are doing if you think you are getting an adequate back workout by doing them.

  23. built04Cobra on May 2nd, 2009 12:41 pm

when i go to the gym and see people using their back and swinging their arms to curl 45’s it honestly makes me laugh when im sitting there twice as big as these guys using half the weight and getting twice the workout just because i am doing it properly, one time i told a guy that he was not doing it correct and he was like this is how i see it done on tv haha

  24. KhoalityNguyener on May 2nd, 2009 12:41 pm

how long does it take to move up in how much your curling over time? like lets say im doing 20s on a bar, and over time, Im hoping to move on to 25’s (I know it isnt a whole lot, lol I just started)

Hello , i got a little problem about the “time” i need to train to reach “good” muscles.

At this moment i train each day:

    4 x 350 Crunches
    4 x 250 Reverse Crunches
    4 x 90 Weight Lifts

on advice of a friend. Now , i got the question: How long does it take to have a “good” result. And are there ways to get it faster/better ? That’s why i post the amounts that i do. I hope anybody can give me “+-” how long it will takes and some improvements

    THX

For those just starting, even useful for those exercising a long time there is an excellent book titled “Strength Training Anatomy” 2nd editon. This is not another book by some muscle head. It as the name suggests has highly detailed drawings of which muscles get used to do over a 100 common exercises using barbells, dumbells and common gym equipment. It shows how to do the exerices, how to avoid common injuries.

    Over 850,000 copies sold.

but you wont grow if u dont do heavy… if your doing like 20reps of something thats to much i would say pick up heavier. but it is true there is such thing to heavy. i mean beginner ya sure go light enough where u can keep good forum i find takes focus to use mucles currectly and if u dont lift normaly is very hard for thos people.
